Tim & Lili

The wonderful wedding of Mr and Mrs Wong at Hanbury Manor

It's always great as a photographer when you get a chance to photograph something a bit different, especially when weddings are concerned. When Tim and Lili told me about their Chinese tea ceremony and what it involved I couldn't wait to turn up and start shooting. The traditional Chinese ceremony starts with the Groom and his groomsmen fighting and competing for the right to marry his bride. This is done by taking part in hilarious games of which are probably more suited to stag party than the morning of your wedding. It had us all in stiches and was the best start to a wedding day I think I've ever witnessed. Once the groom passes all his tests he's finally allowed to see his bride. Lili walked in and looked stunning in her red traditional dress. It was then time for the tea ceremony which included the offering of tea and gifts to Tim and Lili's families. Once the ceremony was over it was time to get back to the room to get into Lili's traditional white dress ready for the actual wedding ceremony. Hanbury Manor served as a stunning venue for all aspects of Tim and Lili's day with a wonderful mix of old history mixed in with a modern hotel. The whole day was filled with wonderful family and friends and so much love! It was an absolute pleasure to be part of this wonderful day!
