Denise & Stephen
Porters Park Golf Club - 23rd July 2016
I started the day at Denise's house photographing her and her bridesmaids getting ready. With 8 bridesmaids, her mum, step dad and 2 brothers all getting ready at the house it was certainly a busy morning of comings and goings. Denise's 8 month old daughter, Emmie, was also there and being so ridiculously cute I was getting easily distracted! Once everyone was ready I got all the bridesmaids to close their eyes while I positioned the beautiful bride in front of them. When I told them to open their eyes I was able to capture perfectly their first view of Denise in her dress, and it didn't disappoint with lots of tears, smiles and excitement.
I had my second photographer, Jade, with me for this wedding which was great as she was able to stay with the men in the morning and photographed them at the church in the lead up to the ceremony. She captured some beautiful moments between the groom Stephen and his five year old son, Dylan before any guests arrived. The ceremony was held at the Catholic St Bartholomew's Church in St Albans, a very modern and beautiful place making it a joy to photograph in.
After the ceremony we headed outside the church to do the confetti shot - which for anyone who knows me will know this is my favourite shot. Denise & Stephen were completed lashed with confetti and were covered head to toe in petals by the end of the line - brilliant!
We then headed over to the venue which was the beautiful Porters Wood Golf Club in Radlett. I'd met Denise here before for our pre wedding meeting and we had a good look around and I couldn't believe the difference when I arrived on the wedding day - Denise and Stephen had completely revamped the room by covering all the curtains with their own white material leaving the room looking lovely and bright. The gorgeous centre pieces of white gypsophilia along with candles and wooden name places all added to the beauty of the room. My favourite table was the kids table which was full of sweets, goody bags and personalised cups - Denise really went all out on making the day special for everyone.
With the formal photos done and the drinks reception drawing to a close it was time for the wedding breakfast. Denise & Stephen decided to do a speech before each dinner course which was a really great way to break up the speeches and it meant people had entertainment during dinner. The speech's had a great mix of emotional and hilarious stories leaving all the guests in tears.
After dinner, the guests were shown into the next room where they were met with a popcorn and candy machine, a personalised cocktail bar and the good old photo booth. To say both the adults and kids were spoilt for choice is an understatement. It was quite a challenge to pull everyone away and back into the other room for the cake cutting!
The cake was cut, the bouquet was thrown and then it was time for the first dance. Five year old Dylan was giving the role of DJ and had the honour of pressing play for the first dance for his mum and dad - a role he took very seriously. Within minutes, everyone had joined Denise and Stephen on the dance floor and the evening festivities were well under way.
Denise and Stephen worked so hard to make this day perfect, not just for themselves but for their guests and it really paid off. A truly wonderful day for a gorgeous couple!
